PM lauds cooperative Kelantan MB, drubs 'arrogant snob'
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim today praised Kelantan Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob's willingness to engage and cooperate to solve the state's water problems.
In contrast, he appeared to imply that Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Noor, was deeply arrogant and only knew how to talk big.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim today praised Kelantan Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob's willingness to engage and cooperate to solve the state's water problems.
In contrast, he appeared to imply that Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Noor, was deeply arrogant and only knew how to talk big.
"He (Ahmad) is different, the Kelantan menteri besar is willing to negotiate amicably. When someone negotiates in goodwill, we will be twice as good (in response).
"(However), those who are arrogant and snobbish, you go ahead and remain arrogant and snobbish," Anwar said in an apparent reference to Sanusi.
The premier said this in his closing speech at the Unity Government Convention in Kuala Lumpur today.
Sanusi has been combative towards Anwar and Putrajaya after the Kedah government's plans to be an aeronautical hub hit a roadblock in getting federal approval.
Most recently, the Kedah menteri besar planned to snub the premier's Aidilfitri open house in the state and only relented after Kedah ruler Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah decided to attend.
In contrast, the Kelantan government welcomed Anwar's intentions to host an open house in their state.
Sabah gets similar invite
Anwar today reiterated his invitation to meet the Kelantan government to find a solution for their water woes, saying that he wants it resolved this year even if it costs billions.
He also extended a similar invitation to Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor to meet soon on water problems in the East Malaysian state.
During his speech, Anwar assured Sabah and Sarawak parties that issues surrounding the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) would also be resolved soon.
He said Deputy Prime Minister Fadilllah Yusof - who is from Sarawak's GPS coalition - has been given a full mandate to do what is needed.
"I don't want that when I go to Sabah and Sarawak, people still raise the issue of MA63. What is the meaning of independence if the people are not free?" he added.

There are two sayings ,one says, he speaks accommodatingly in order to survive and the other says he opens his foul mouth to hurt his bottom. The separate description fits the two Menteri Besars aptly. In the Kelantan Mentri Besar we see someone prepared to work with the Central government by putting aside political differences to engage and achieve a common good for the Kelantanese people. On the other the Kedah Mentri Besar is like one emitting the smell of Sambal Petai even before he utters the first word. Sanusi bullies his way through to take all glories for himself. He cares not about the well being and affairs of Kedahans for he is full of himself. If PAS Central Leadership and Kedahans continue with Sanusi their misplaced trust will soon be destroyed by the egomaniac Sanusi .
