After a delegate criticised the party leadership, PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari came to the latter’s defence saying party members are just human beings and not “angels”.

This comes after Perlis delegate Mohd Saifizi Saidon alleged that PAS leadership had failed to monitor the quality of its leaders and menteris besar.

“PAS is managed by human beings, not angels. We acknowledge that we’re not perfect in everything.

“But we’re a democratic party and open to criticism, unlike some outfits where criticisms are met with sacking,” Fadhli said during a presser at the sidelines of the PAS muktamar held at Kompleks Makmur in Temerloh, Pahang today.

Earlier, Saifizi said the absence of a leadership guidance manual has led to failure in managing the party's victory in four states in accordance with PAS principles and morality.

This has caused some leaders to act like dictators by sidelining party stakeholders’ views in their administration, he claimed.

Saifizi also claimed that certain leaders have not been showing proper conduct, with one indulging in karaoke singing and his behaviour was defended by a PAS ulama.

It is believed that Saifizi was referring to Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor on the karaoke issue.

Off the mark

Fadhli claimed that Saifizi’s statement was off the mark as the issues mentioned have been discussed at the central leadership level.

The Pasir Mas MP added that decisions made have also been directed to the states.

“But I take note of what was said by the Perlis delegate, just that it was not really accurate,” he said.
