Johor Menteri Besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi has condemned an alleged “targeted mercenary spyware” against him, after receiving a notification from Apple that his personal iPhone may have been targeted.
“I view the matter seriously because it involves data security, secrecy of communications, personal rights, and attempts to encroach ones privacy,” he said in a Facebook post.
He said he will lodge a report with the police and MCMC.
The Machap assemblyperson also shared a screenshot of a notification from Apple about such attacks, stating there has been an attempt to remotely compromise his iPhone and such attacks are “exceptionally rare and vastly more sophisticated” than regular cybercrime.
“Although it’s never possible to achieve absolute certainty when detecting such attacks, Apple has high confidence in this warning - please take it seriously,” it stated.
Healthcare
Setting up a government hospital in Petaling Jaya is no simple matter and entails different considerations compared to private hospitals, said PKR Youth vice chief Nabil Halimi.
Responding to a statement by Selangor PAS Youth, he said private hospitals can choose their location based on market capacity, return on investment, and target market, while a government hospital needs to consider the people’s needs more comprehensively.

PKR Youth vice chief Nabil Halimi Even if the Land Acquisition Act 1960 is invoked to compel the acquisition of land to set up a hospital, it will still have significant financial implications on public coffers, especially in a mature development like Petaling Jaya, Subang, and Puchong, where land prices are high.
The Petaling Jaya councillor also questioned why Bersatu did not resolve the issue if it was serious about it, when it was in power, or when its secretary-general, Azmin Ali, was the menteri besar.
