Petaling Jaya hospital

• MCA vice-president Lawrence Low has called for the government to establish a clear timeline for a public hospital in Petaling Jaya.

  In a statement today, the Selangor party chairperson stressed that voters have a right to know more about land issues that have prevented a public hospital from being built in one of the most densely populated areas in the country.

  

  However, he also pointed out that the government must continue to focus on existing hospitals by upgrading their facilities and services.

BN anniversary

• BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has said that the coalition must continue to adapt to future political demands.

  Reflecting on BN’s 52nd anniversary today, Zahid warned that the coalition will go through many challenges over its existence, including the upcoming general election.

  “However, I am confident that as long as we are firmly united, loyal to the struggle, understand the pulse of the people and continue to work sincerely and responsibly, God willing, BN will continue to remain relevant, gain the trust of the people, and regain an even stronger mandate in the future,” he said in a statement on Facebook.

• MCA president Wee Ka Siong reminisced on BN’s formation on June 1, 1974, from the Alliance Party.

  In a statement today, he said the coalition’s leaders are continuing the struggle to build a progressive country while defending diversity.

  

  “Despite facing many challenges along the way, the BN banner continues to fly proudly because it remains the only coalition with the sincerity, experience, and proven track record in governing the country,” he added.
