Harapan Youth demands BN ministers, deputies quit over PN alliance

Kita orangbiasa: Pakatan Harapan Youth, in politics, forget about gratitude and loyalty, especially from Umno and PAS. Both have shown time and again that they switch partners for power. Their greed is limitless.

On the other hand, blame Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for letting Umno loose, giving them so much power, positions, and perks.

How, based on any logical reason, could Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who was facing 47 corruption charges and was called to enter his defence by the courts, be appointed as the deputy prime minister?

What were you guys doing then? Why wasn’t there any protest then from the Harapan Youth?

What were you guys doing when Zahid was given a discharge not amounting to an acquittal in 2023?

Anwar has just blown up the opportunity given to him. The Johor polls were the beginning, and the 16th general election will see the termination of Harapan.

GP2025: Once again, Harapan is not playing the game to win. Why should BN quit these posts that were given to them in exchange for supporting Anwar?

BN is in government, that’s why it’s winning Malay support, and the opposition Malay-majority is in disarray. Perikatan Nasional is divided. So in any contest against BN, it will lose.

So it will choose to join BN to save itself. But if it unites, it stands a good chance to win, and if BN joins it, it will be as a junior partner and will be checked.

So why call for resignations? BN ministers, deputy ministers, and those with government positions don’t have to resign.

Call them to leave the Madani government and for a general election. What’s the point of supporting an unconstitutional government that can’t deliver?

Call for a general election now, and Harapan may lose fewer seats now rather than if elections are called later.

If Anwar wants to finish a full term, Harapan will lose more seats while BN gains more. And then Zahid will become prime minister.

Harapan must prevent that from happening, and the only way to do that is to call for snap elections.

Harapan, think and demand the right thing. Getting the mandate of the people without interference is the solution.

Milshah: So far this BN/PAS combo has caused problems:

1. BN has no poster boy in the Negeri Sembilan election; there is no “head”, and people don’t know who will be menteri besar.

2. BN has freely given 11 seats to PN without contest, without consultation with grassroots, causing disgruntlement among Negeri Sembilan Umno members.

3. BN working with PAS, I think, is a red line for DAP. For Johor, it’s just BN, so even if Harapan or BN win, they are both in the Madani government, but this latest electoral pact is with PAS.

4. Mixed seats and non-Malay majority seats will be in trouble for BN, as non-Malays may not vote for BN, as a vote for BN is a vote for PAS. At least 11 non-Malay majority seats will be lost to DAP.

5. The Madani government relationship will be impacted as BN chose PAS, something DAP may not accept.

6. MCA left to defend alone against the BN-PAS combo.

Who actually made this decision for the Umno-PAS tie-up? As long as they can get Malay votes? Don’t care for non-Malay votes? Don’t care for Umno members? Was it worth it? Time will tell.

A little bit crazy: Alamak Harapan Youth, you bark up the wrong tree lah.

You should call up the prime minister to fire the Umno people out of the government. It is the prerogative power of the prime minister to appoint or fire the cabinet ministers.

But Anwar is like former prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob. He will try to cling to his premiership until the time he loses all support.

He will not take the initiative to call for GE16. Umno and PAS have obviously noticed the prime minister’s weakness, and so, they team up to bully and humiliate him.

BlueShark1548: Long overdue call by Harapan Youth. If Harapan want to survive the next general election, Anwar should ask Umno to leave the coalition, as Harapan will still have a majority with East Malaysian support.

If Anwar is reluctant, then DAP, with its 40 MPs, should put pressure on Anwar; it is Umno or DAP.

Umno’s cabinet positions can be filled by East Malaysians, and in addition, Anwar can accommodate the East Malaysians by acceding to give more to them under the Malaysia Agreement 1963.

Then Anwar can serve his full term and implement institutional reforms and revamp educational policies, starting with full recognition of the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC).

Vote4changejohor: Harapan Youth is spot on demanding the sticky and untrustworthy BN leaders and ministers to quit for working together with Perikatan Nasional in Negeri Sembilan.

Please continue to press the current ambiguous Harapan top leaders to let their BN counterparts know that BN has crossed the red line in working together with PN.

Pakatan Harapan’s candidate for Linggi, Aminuddin Harun (middle)

Shame on the power crazy and greedy BN for forsaking fairness and failing to uphold the principle of coalition governance.

LimeMoose1462: Most of us understand what coalition government means and are fully aware of its limitations, with respect to manifesto fulfilment.

However, certain principles are non-negotiable. Corruption and abuse of power are some of them. Different people have different principles, understood. I guess each one of us decides what is negotiable and what is not.

Hope: It is an honourable thing to do if Umno still has principles, integrity, and credibility left. How can BN/Umno and Harapan, who attacked each other fiercely in events leading up to the Negeri Sembilan state election, sit down in cabinet meetings as if nothing happened?

This is hypocrisy at the highest, not professionalism as claimed by the politikus. Malaysians are not stupid! So shameful.

GrayParrot9290: All due to a weak prime minister who failed in managing his own PKR and now the government.

Malaysia deserves better than Harapan and PN.

Hopefully Bersama can rise to make Malaysia a truly developed country free of corruption and racism.
