  • Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today urged political leaders to avoid infighting and power struggles that promote division and instead focus on the state’s development and public welfare.

According to a post on the Selangor royal office Facebook page, the state ruler had conveyed this message at a gathering with former menteri besar Khir Toyo and Azmin Ali, as well as current menteri besar Amirudin Shari - all of whom are from rival parties.

He stressed that leaders must prioritise the common good over personal or political interests, while maintaining mutual respect and constructive dialogue to ensure social harmony as well as political stability.

“Leadership responsibilities must be discharged with integrity, prioritising the interests of the people over personal or political factional interests,” the post said.
