Dud strike
The proposed strike by the anonymous Mogok Doktor Malaysia group, appears to have been a dud.
The group claimed that thousands of contract doctors would go on leave crippling public hospitals, but this did not materialise.
Attempts by Malaysiakini to contact the group were also spurned, with the latter accusing the news portal of biased reporting and being owned by "DAP and Pakatan Harapan parties".
The group's social media accounts went offline yesterday - just two days into a proposed three-day strike.
While the strike seemingly failed to materialise, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim assured again that contract doctor woes would be solved in three years.
Specifically, he said 12,800 doctors would be given full-time positions in that time period.
Anwar also announced that on-call allowances at six clinics that have extended hours would be increased.

PN's 'chance meeting'
Also on Monday, Perikatan Nasional staged a brief walkout of the Dewan Rakyat after calls for a debate on Employees Provident Fund (EPF) withdrawals were rejected.
Separately, Tasek Gelugor MP Wan Saiful Wan Jan accompanied three NGOs to submit a memorandum to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, appealing to the monarch to advise Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to allow another round of withdrawals.
Wan Saiful's visit coincided with that of a man who purportedly walked more than 300km from Skudai, Johor, to Istana Negara in four days - also to petition the king on EPF withdrawals.
The Bersatu MP said this was a "chance encounter".

Amendments to make stalking a criminal offence punishable with jail
These bills will be debated in the Dewan Negara before they are made into law.
The government also tabled bills aimed at decriminalising suicide in the Dewan Rakyat - which will be debated when the Lower House reconvenes in late May.
