Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal has been suspended from parliamentary duties for six months.
This means he will miss the next Parliament meeting when Budget 2025 is tabled.
Wan Fayhsal was disciplined for quoting an anonymous unverified letter that named an officer in the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) as the purported “mastermind” of the plan to privatise Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd and portrayed the officer in a negative light.

Citizenship bill postponed again
The debate and vote on the government's planned citizenship amendments have been postponed yet again.
Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the bill had been presented to the Conference of Rulers again, but is still in need of fine-tuning.
Activists have warned that a majority of the amendments could cause more people to become stateless.
A counter-proposal had been submitted to Saifuddin highlighting potential remedies to these flaws.

Parallel pathways solved
The Dewan Rakyat passed changes to 12 provisions under the Medical Act.
The amendments include broadened recognition for specialists who gained credentials through parallel pathway programmes abroad.
This includes the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Previously, four cardiothoracic surgery graduates from the college were rejected from registering themselves on the National Specialist Register.
