Anwar throws gauntlet at Hamzah
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is unfazed by the turnout at the “Turun Anwar” rally on Saturday, which had an estimated 25,000 turnout by Malaysiakini's count.
Instead, he set his sights on opposition leader Hamzah Zainudin, challenging the latter again to file a no-confidence vote.
It’s a contest that Anwar will undoubtedly win.
Meanwhile, Anwar said criticism against him must be based on facts.

Another shocking allegation hits judiciary
Recently retired chief judge of Sabah and Sarawak Abdul Rahman Sebli made a shocking allegation regarding judicial independence.
In a farewell speech, he alleged that when he was a Federal Court judge, a "very senior" judge had tried to pressure him into changing his ruling.
Although he did not name names, it was likely aimed at retired chief justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat.
The case in question is believed to be Maria Chin Abdullah's final appeal against a travel ban, in which Rahman led a 4-3 majority ruling upholding an ouster clause that the activist was challenging. Tengku Maimun made the minority ruling in the matter.

Backpedalling in Farhash scandal
Sabah Mineral Management Sdn Bhd (SMM) is tweaking its story about whether or not a mineral exploration licence was granted to a company linked to Anwar Ibrahim's former aide, Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak.
On July 21, SMM originally denied outright that Bumi Suria Sdn Bhd - which Farhash co-owns - was granted a licence.
However, on Friday, the Sabah GLC admitted it did grant conditional permission to Bumi Suria to apply for a prospecting licence.
But it said the condition was later cancelled after the company failed to submit the required documents.
