Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali said the Perak government has already accepted the RM100,000 it gave to help flood victims.
Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali said the Perak government has already accepted the RM100,000 it gave to help flood victims.
He said he is unaware of reports that the Perak government has rejected the aid which was handed over early this week.
“I have no clue. The cheque for the Perak government has already been handed to the office of the Perak Menteri Besar, Zambry Abd Kadir, and the office has already confirmed the receipt of the cheque,” he told reporters today.
He was responding to questions when met at the State Secretariat Building in Shah Alam.
Yesterday, Selangor state exco member for welfare Daroyah Alwi ( left ) expressed regret that the Perak government had supposedly rejected the money.
The official state media Selangorkini quoted her saying that as a result, the money could not be channelled to the flood victims.
For this, Perak DAP slammed its BN counterparts for supposedly playing politics at the expense of the welfare of the flood victims.
Meanwhile, Daroyah appeared to be taken aback told of Azmin’s response, when met at the same function.
She asked reporters to refer to the menteri besar’s statement for the latest about the flood aid, as she has yet receive any updates about it.
“If that is what the menteri besar said, then just take his statement. That would be better.
“Perhaps that is the latest development. Maybe the (Selangor) Menteri Besar’s Office communicated with the Perak Menteri Besar’s office today. So get it from the Menteri Besar’s Office.
“So far, I don’t have that information,” she said.
