One is thing clear with regards to Umno deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin's future with Umno and that he is a 'pure' Umno member.

"I am a totok (pure) Umno member," he said today when asked on his stance towards his party following its first supreme council meeting after he was sacked as deputy prime minister.

Asked on the outcome of the meeting, he said: "Everything went well".

As he was leaving the venue at the Putra World Trade Centre, he was mobbed by the media and his supporters who sang the 'Umno Johor' and the Inilah Barisan Kita songs, all the way to his car.

After shouts of ' Allahuakbar ', ' Hidup Tan Sri' and ' Hidup Umno Johor ', the group then ended their cheering for Muhyiddin with a prayer.

Earlier today, the Umno deputy president was also cheered by his supporters, mainly Umno members from Johor, when he arrived at the Putra World Trade Centre for the meeting.

Speculation had been rife that Muhyiddin, Kedah Menteri Besar Mukhriz Mahathir and Umno vice president Shafie Apdal as well as several other party leaders seen as being opposed to prime minister and Umno president Najib Abdul Razak, might be sacked from the party during the meeting.

Meanwhile, Umno supreme council member Tajuddin Abdul Rahman when met by reporters, echoed Muyiddin's statement that the meeting went well.

'Unity in solidarity'

Asked what that was said by Muhyiddin during the closed door meeting, he said that the Umno Johor leader had pledged his support.

"He said that he will support the party and that he supports the (party's) leadership to face the general election.

"He won't do anything that can affect the party, that's his promise," said Tajuddin.

He denied that Muhyiddin and Shafie were admonished by the party leadership during the meeting, saying that everyone only expressed their views on strengthening the party.

Fellow Umno supreme council member, Kinabatangan MP Bung Mokhtar Radin also said that the meeting went smoothly.

"Nothing out of the ordinary happened," he said. "The mood during the meeting was very good. The meeting went extremely well."

Arau MP Shahidan Kassim when met said it was a 'very good' meeting. "Unity in solidarity," he added simply.

Asked whether there were arguments during the meeting from Muhyiddin's camp, he said: "No […] no camps."
