Umno suit tussle degenerates to 'termites and germs'
The tussle between former Langkawi Umno member Anina Saadudin and Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor has degenerated into name calling, with Tengku Adnan being likened to a "germ".
This came after Tengku Adnan described Anina as a "termite" out to destroy Umno.
The duo are engaged in a feud after Tengku Adnan announced Anina's automatic expulsion from Umno for filing a suit against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, who is also Umno president.
"I would like to stress that my actions are based on the principles of a responsible Malay who loves her party.
"I am not an 'anai-anai' (termite) that is supposedly out to spoil the party.
"I only want to defend Umno from being destroyed by 'kuman lapuk' like Tengku Adnan, who is in cahoots with the (alleged) wrongdoer Najib Abdul Razak," Anina ( photo ) said in a statement today.
On Aug 28, Anina filed a suit against Najib after Sarawak Report claimed that US$650 million of the US$681 million deposited into Najib's personal accounts was remitted overseas.
Najib denied using public funds for personal gain. The sum has been described as political donation.
This prompted Anina's suit on grounds that the money belonged to the party.
Subsequently, Tengku Adnan announced her automatic expulsion from Umno, on grounds that the party constitution disallows members from taking party matters to court.
Today, Anina filed a fresh suit, this time against Tengku Adnan and Umno executive secretary Ab Rauf Yusoh, in a bid to restore her Umno membership.
