SCL Group, the parent company of Cambridge Analytica (CA), has remained tight-lipped on its current political engagements in Malaysia.

When asked if it had any current engagements with Malaysian political parties for the 14th general election, SCL Group Southeast Asia head Azrin Zizal replied: "No comment."

He had earlier said that CA and SCL Group had only been involved in Kedah during the 2013 general election.

"BN won Kedah back from Pakatan Rakyat in the 13th general election and walked away from a successful campaign.

“With wins in 21 out of 36 state seats and 10 out of the 15 parliamentary seats in the state, BN enjoyed a landslide victory," CA boasted on its website.

Azrin said yesterday that CA and SCL Group had directly advised then Kedah BN election director Mukhriz Mahathir in GE13.

Mukhriz subsequently became Kedah menteri besar, before being removed from the post in 2016.

Azrin had also insisted that the company had never been engaged by BN.

Mukhriz, who is now Bersatu deputy president, subsequently denied contracting CA to help him in Kedah.

"CA and SCL Group are currently accused of deceit and the dissemination of false news to benefit certain political parties who have employed their services.

"To expect Malaysians to now believe what they say is asinine," he said.
