Umno supreme council member Lokman Noor Adam has now claimed that it would be "a waste of time" to file a suit against MACC chief Shukri Abdull over claims of alleged prejudice in investigations linked to former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.

"I feel that it would be a waste of time to file a suit against someone like this.

"Because we know the government of Malaysia today is practising the rule of the jungle, not the rule of law," claimed Lokman who was among Najib's supporters present at the Jalan Duta Court Complex in Kuala Lumpur this morning.

They were waiting for Najib to arrive and sign the necessary court documents after payment of the second half of his RM1 million bail for four criminal charges linked to former 1MDB subsidiary SRC International Sdn Bhd.

Najib has claimed trial to all charges.

Last Saturday, Shukri reportedly said critics of the ongoing investigations were welcome to lodge police reports or take legal action against him. 

Lokman, who is also president of the NGO Pemantau Malaysia Baru, had previously lodged a police report against Shukri for lying about the charges against Najib.

Najib has filed lawsuits against Shukri, attorney-general Tommy Thomas and Bukit Aman commercial crimes chief Amar Singh for being prejudiced against him in the course of the investigations into 1MDB.

Lokman also singled out Shukri again for abusing his position to exact revenge upon Najib’s family members by freezing their bank accounts.

Despite a denial from the MACC, Lokman insisted that among those affected include Najib’s 10-month old grandson, as well as Najib’s daughter Puteri Norlisa who is undergoing treatment for stage IV cancer.

"I am not accusing MACC as a whole, but I dare say that this action is being carried out by Shukri," he said.
