Cops to record Waytha's statement today

Waythamoorthy confirmed this when contacted by Malaysiakini, but added he was unsure what time he would be there.
Police reports were lodged against Waythamoorthy over a decade-old video clip of him accusing the previous BN administration of discriminating against the Indian Malaysian community.
Inspector-General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun said earlier today that the minister had postponed his date with authorities several times.
"He postponed it several times. If there is no change, we will record his statement today," Fuzi told reporters during a media conference at the Police College in Cheras today.
Several days ago, Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki had questioned why the police had yet to apprehend Waythamoorthy despite the "hundreds" of police reports lodged against him.
Asyraf accused the police of double standards for arresting Umno Youth exco member Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris or "Papagomo", despite the latter being named in fewer police reports.
Last month, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Noor Rashid Ibrahim said that Waythamoorthy and the Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi were among nine individuals to be summoned by police to facilitate investigation into their remarks which police believe have incited racial and religious tension.
Separately, Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said the police has identified the mastermind behind the rioting at the temple on Nov 26.
“The police have information and action has already been taken on some of the suspects, and the number of those rearrested are still increasing.
“There is cooperation from members of the public, like in the case of (assault against firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kasim) where a witness has come forward to give statement, and we will pursue the matter until we can prove who is the perpetrator, he said.
Muhyiddin was speaking at a press conference today after attending a monthly meeting between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the police at Bukit Aman.
Also present was inspector-general Fuzi Haron, who said 83 people have been arrested so far to assist investigations on the riots around the temple.
However, he said no one has yet to come forward to provide information on 28 people the police are looking for, for which the police have released their pictures yesterday.
