DAP MP comes to Umno's defence, and 7 news from yesterday

1. DAP Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng has asked the government to spare Umno from being deregistered.

2. Malacca police gave the go-ahead for a prayer session that will feature preacher Zakir Naik this Saturday. Malacca exco member Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen said non-Muslims need not worry about the event.

3. Police are awaiting instructions from the Attorney-General's Chambers regarding the probe into Zakir Naik, while investigation papers on Chinese educationist group Dong Zong will be submitted soon.

4. Police have received a report from British audiovisual forensic experts on the sex video implicating Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali.

5. PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said a campaign to buy Muslim-made products first is inclusive, a claim which DAP's Ramkarpal Singh rubbished.
