The Selangor police have asked PKR president Anwar Ibrahim’s political secretary, Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, to come forward to assist investigations.

This is in relation to an armed riot that took place at around 9pm on Aug 31, at the Arena All Stars sports complex in Ampang.

According to Selangor CID chief Fadzil Ahmat about 12 to 14 men were involved in the incident, where the suspect allegedly shoved the complainant in the face upon seeing him.

After being told to leave by the sports complex’s management, the complainant supposedly went to the motorcycle parking area outside where he was attacked with knives, helmets, and chairs by 10 men.

“Three of the complainant's companions tried to stop the incident but failed. The complainant suffered tears to his waist, injuries to his body, and pain in the genital area.

“Following the incident, the police is asking one of the suspects, Farhash Wafa Salvador, 37, to come forward to assist investigations,” he said in a statement today.

Earlier today, Farhash reported told Sinar Harian that a viral message that had circulated today claiming that he was involved in a fight is a slander against him by his political opponents.

“Yes, surely (this is the work of my political opponents). Many are being paid to slander,” the Perak PKR chief was quoted as saying.

The message, which had been circulating on social media and instant messaging platforms, claimed that Farhash had been arrested in relation to a fight outside a gymnasium in Ampang on Aug 31.

It alleged that he had severely beaten a man due to being dissatisfied after losing a court case involving the man.

The report quoted Farhash claiming that the allegations are untrue. Anwar’s press secretary Tunku Nashrul likewise defended Farhash.

“The incident alleged in the message is untrue,” he was quoted as saying.
