GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS

- Employees Provident Fund, George Town, Penang and Shah Alam, Selangor

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) branches in George Town and Shah Alam were both closed for sanitation today after a number of staff members tested positive for Covid-19.

EPF George Town is closed until Wednesday while EPF Shah Alam will reopen tomorrow, Bernama reported.

Those who have made appointments at these branches are advised to reschedule using the Janji Temu Online facility, or visit other branches.


BUSINESSES

- Auto Global Parts Industries Sdn Bhd, Meru, Klang

The automotive parts manufacturer was hit by Covid-19 after 79 of its employees tested positive. 

According to a notice to Bursa Malaysia by parent company New Hoong Fatt Holdings Berhad, the cases were detected when it conducted a screening exercise on 337 employees at its plastic parts production factory in Meru on Dec 30.

The company said operations had resumed progressively, with enhanced standard operating procedures to ensure the health and safety of its workers.

- VS Industry Berhad, Senai, Johor

In a notice to Bursa Malaysia today, the company said that 17 of its workers have tested positive for Covid-19.

It said that the workers were living in a dormitory managed by a third-party service provider. Following this, other workers identified as close contacts have also undergone swab tests, and placed under a 10-day quarantine.

The company added that its manufacturing operations are not affected, and they continue to carry out deep cleaning and disinfection at the workspace.

- Entier French Dining, Kuala Lumpur

Two guests who dined here at 12 noon to 4pm on Jan 2 tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 3.

The restaurant was immediately closed after being informed of the cases.

Disinfection is underway while staff members who had contact with the infected customers are in quarantine, the restaurant said in a notice on Facebook.

 - JM Bariani House, Wangsa Walk Mall, Kuala Lumpur

The restaurant is closed for sanitation and contact tracing from Dec 31 after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.

The employee underwent testing after developing a mild fever, the management said.

It advised customers who visited the Wangsa Walk outlet from Dec 26 to 30 to get tested and undergo self-quarantine.

- Mamacina Bar and Restaurant, Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur

The restaurant is closed until Jan 11 after a customer and a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.

The customer visited the restaurant on Dec 26 and experienced symptoms on Dec 28, it said.

The restaurant has been sanitised and all have been screened. 

The restaurant is co-owned by the owner of the Flyproject chain of gyms, which reported some nine cases among staff and two among members, so far.

- B Lab, The Verve Suites, Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur

A staff member of this cafe tested positive for Covid-19, the Verve Shops Management said in a notice yesterday.

The staff member was last at the premises on Dec 31, it added.

The outlet has been sanitised and affected staff sent for Covid-19 testing, it said.

Earlier, Malaysiakini reported a staff member of Flyproject fitness centre at Verve Suite also tested positive for Covid-19. 

Flyproject, which also goes by Flycycle, reported a customer who attended a class there on Dec 23 tested positive on Dec 29.

The outlet is closed until Jan 10.  

- PWRHouse Gymnasium, Matahari Building Desa Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur

This fitness gymnasium business issued a notice on its Instagram Story saying that a member was confirmed positive for Covid-19 via RT-PCR test yesterday (Jan 3, 2021).

It said the member had attended two classes at PWRHouse at 8.30pm on Dec 30, 2020 and 8.15am on Dec 31, 2020.

The gymnasium is now closed temporarily until further notice.

- Urban Spring Pilates, Taman Bandaraya, Kuala Lumpur

The gymnasium management issued a notice saying that a client has tested positive for Covid-19. The individual last attended class at the premises in Jalan Bangkung, Bangsar on Dec 28, 2020.

Following this, its studios in Bangsar are closed temporarily for sanitisation, until further notice.

All staff and instructors would also be taking swab tests, said the notice.


EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

- The Children's House Montessori Jalan Bruas, Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur

The management of this Montessori franchise issued a notice yesterday that a student has been tested positive for Covid-19.

It said that the student, who last came to school on Dec 23, 2020 had taken a swab test after the child's father was confirmed positive on New Year's Eve.

Following this, thorough disinfection and sanitisation exercise have been carried out at the centre by a professional disinfectant unit.


PLACES OF WORSHIP

- Masjid Darul Ehsan Taman Tun Abdul Razak, Ampang, Selangor

A member of the mosque congregation has been tested positive for Covid-19, according to a notice issued by its secretary today.

Following this, the mosque management has decided to close its operations temporarily starting today until further notice.

They are also awaiting further instructions from the Health Ministry regarding the incident.


OFFICES

- Menara Star, Petaling Jaya, Selangor

The Star Media Group issued a notice yesterday saying that an employee has been confirmed positive Covid-19 on Jan 2, 2021.

It said the employee had been on leave since Dec 15, 2020, and he had been away from the premises since.

While the risk of infection due to the individual was considered "extremely low", the company said the building management has initiated additional sanitisation activities.

- SetiaWalk, Puchong, Selangor

A tenant at Level 3, Commercial Block C tested positive for Covid-19 on Dec 30.

The person was last at the premises on Dec 24 and was on that day advised to seek Covid-19 testing after developing flu-like symptoms.

Other team members at the same office have tested negative but the office is closed as all employees are under home quarantine.

The office and common areas have been sanitised.

- Phileo Damansara 1, Petaling Jaya, Selangor

An employee at Block F tested positive for Covid-19 on Dec 24, while another at Block E tested positive on Dec 29.

The management informed owners and tenants of this in two separate notices last week.

It said it will continue with daily sanitation.

Malaysiakini earlier reported a Covid-19 case at Block B of the same office complex on Dec 18.


RESIDENCES

- Tasik Heights Apartment, Bandar Tasik Selatan, Kuala Lumpur

A Covid-19 case was detected at Block B, the management said in a notice today. 

- Seri Maya Residence, Jalan Jelatek, Kuala Lumpur

A seventh Covid-19 case was reported on Dec 30, according to a notice to residents.

The latest resident to be infected is from Block D, the management said.

Since Dec 25, two residents of Block D, and one each from Block P, Block J, and Block C of this residential complex have tested positive for Covid-19.

- Kiaraville Condominium, Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur

A resident of Block C and two occupants in Block D tested positive on Jan 2, the management said.

According to management, those in Block D were tested on Dec 24 but only received their results on Jan 2 and opted to self-quarantine instead of isolating at a quarantine centre.

The duo has since been declared recovered by Serdang Hospital, the management said.

Nevertheless, it is making arrangements to disinfect common areas.

- Starville Apartment, Subang Jaya, Selangor

A resident tested positive for Covid-19, the management said in a notice on Saturday.

The individual has been sent to the hospital for treatment while relatives living in the same unit are under quarantine.

The management has arranged for full disinfection at all common areas and facilities, as well as the floor of the affected resident.

- Perdana Emerald, Damansara Perdana, Selangor

A resident of Block 2 tested positive for Covid-19 on Dec 29, the management said.

All common areas have been disinfected, while disinfection activity will be carried out every two weeks henceforth.

Family members of the infected resident are undergoing home quarantine.

- Suriamas Apartment, Petaling Jaya, Selangor

A resident of Block C tested positive for Covid-19 and was taken to hospital by ambulance on Jan 1, the management said.

All common areas will be disinfected.

- The Verve Suites, Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur

A resident of Block A tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 4, the management said.

The Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre has been notified while frequently touched surfaces have been sanitised.

Sanitation of common areas will be done throughout the night, it said.

- Five Stone Residence, Petaling Jaya, Selangor

The management of this condominium issued a notice yesterday that one of its employees tested positive for Covid-19.

Following this, they are conducting disinfection activities at all contact areas, while all management office staff would also be taking swab tests.

- Foreign workers' dormitory, Bukit Pasir, Muar, Johor

In a Bursa Malaysia announcement today, furniture company Lii Hen Industries Bhd said an enhanced movement control order has been imposed on a foreign workers dormitory in Kejora Juara involving employees of its subsidiaries.

It said the employees of EF Furniture Sdn Bhd, CT Haup Heng Sdn Bhd, Lii Hen Furniture Sdn Bhd, and Favourite Design Sdn Bhd, which are located in the same proximity, were under quarantine until Jan 15.

A screening exercise that covers some 2,700 employees of all company's plants and corporate offices in the area started on Jan 2 and is still ongoing.

- Urbana Residences, Ara Damansara, Selangor

Two residents have tested positive for Covid-19, the management said.

They live on Level 5 of Block C and Level 10 of Block B and tested positive on Jan 3 and Jan 2, respectively.

The management has sanitised all common areas.

- Suasana Sentral Loft, KL Sentral, Kuala Lumpur

A resident of Block B tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 3, the management said in a notice.

Security at the entrance will now be tightened to stop unnecessary movements while health screening at the guard post will be enhanced, it said.

All common and affected areas will be disinfected, it said.

- Various residential areas in Kulai, Johor

According to the Kulai Health Office, new Covid-19 cases were detected yesterday in Taman Senai Jaya, Taman Mewah, Taman Senai Baru, Tiong (Bandarputra), Camar (Bandarputra), Jalan Persiaran Teknologi, Taman Senai Utama and Taman Aman.


MEDICAL FACILITIES

- Megaklinik Zahran, Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor

Actor Harris Annuar said he tested positive for Covid-19 through screening at Megalinik Zahran on Jan 3.

In an Instagram post, he said he is undergoing self-quarantine while waiting to be contacted by the Health Ministry.

Harris urges all who had contact with him in the past two weeks to seek Covid-19 testing.
