Amanah Youth only qualified to debate flower pot, says Afnan

Amanah Youth's tactics to goad its PAS counterpart into a debate appear to be having the opposite effect.

PAS Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden was unfazed by Amanah Youth saying it would place a flower pot in PAS' stead if they don't turn up for the proposed dialogue.

"I hear that Amanah Youth finds it easier to have a dialogue with a flower pot. Go ahead, that is what they are most qualified for," Afnan (above) said in a Facebook post today.

Amanah Youth sent an invitation to PAS Youth last week, challenging them to a debate in Cyberjaya either this Tuesday or Wednesday.

The purpose was for Amanah Youth to address allegations that PAS has levelled against the party.

Amanah is an offshoot of PAS.

Yesterday, after not receiving a response to the invite, Amanah Youth secretariat member Nash Nahar said if PAS Youth did not send a representative, they would place a flower pot on their designated seat instead.

PAS Youth secretary Khidhir Izaidin, in a separate statement, said Amanah Youth should debate with DAP instead.

"If Amanah Youth truly wants to debate for the interest of the ummah, it is better if they find a more relevant opponent like DAP, a party that clearly does not respect Islam and often challenges the limits of Muslims.

"Or maybe Amanah Youth dares not scold its 'big brother'," he said.
