Johor's top cop to replace Shuhaily as new Bukit Aman CID chief

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Shuhaily Zain will become the next Border Control and Protection Agency director-general, effective July 1.

According to The Star today, he will serve for two years at the agency until June 30, 2027.

Johor police chief M Kumar has been tapped to succeed Shuhaily. However, it is unclear when Kumar will assume the post.

Shuhaily confirmed the news with the English daily but refused to comment further, urging the media to wait for the handing over ceremony, which is taking place on June 30.

On June 20, Bukit Aman’s Special Branch director Khalid Ismail was appointed as the new inspector-general of police, replacing Razarudin Husain.

Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the Yang di-Pertuan Agong had consented to Khalid’s appointment for a two-year term - beginning June 23, 2025, to June 22, 2027.
