Negeri Sembilan crisis
Ahead of a planned meeting tomorrow of the Negeri Sembilan Council of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar and the Ruling Chiefs (Dewan Keadilan dan Undang; DKU), the DKU secretary Raja Norazli Raja Nordin said the meeting cannot be convened.
This is because the parties involved are locked in a legal dispute, The Star reported, and any meeting unilaterally called by the territorial chief (undang) and the tunku besar of Tampin would be invalid.
“The DKU finds that the actions set out in a May 21 letter from the undang, tunku besar Tampin, datuk syahbandar and two others are improper and undermine the integrity of the ongoing court proceedings.
“The DKU and I reserve our right to take appropriate legal action regarding any unilateral steps taken that would prejudice or delay the said court proceedings,” he was quoted as saying.
Last week, Malaysiakini reported that the meeting was being sought to end the state’s worsening royal dispute.

Selangor PAS Youth chief Sukri Omar has urged the government to prioritise public transport safety following today’s LRT derailment near Chan Sow Lin station.
In a statement, Sukri claimed the incident, along with previous disruptions involving the Aerotrain service and flooding at the KLIA, reflected broader weaknesses in infrastructure management and a culture of reacting to crises rather than preventing them.

Selangor PAS Youth chief Sukri Omar The youth chief called for a comprehensive safety audit of all rail systems involving independent and international experts, while urging the government to strengthen its preventative maintenance culture.
He added that Transport Minister Anthony Loke should consider resigning if such failures continue to persist without meaningful reforms.
