DAP vs Amanah

DAP says it has a long-term plan to court rural Malay voters.

However, its Malay heartland gambit is currently in friction with Amanah - with the latter getting the short end of the stick.

The two clashed over the Changkat Jong state seat in Perak - allegedly due to mixed signals from the Amanah leadership. The seat ultimately went to DAP.

Meanwhile, a seat swap where DAP gets Jerai in Kedah while Amanah gets Alor Gajah, in Malacca, did not sit well with Kedah Amanah.

Kedah Amanah chief Phahrolrazi Mohd Zawawi has been sacked for opposing the trade.

New vs old

Harapan's candidate list this year saw a number of incumbents being dropped.

Amanah dropped four incumbents including Hanipa Maidin, while PKR has dropped eight incumbents including R Sivarasa, Maria Chin Abdullah and Johari Abdul.

The reshuffling has ruffled some feathers with former Batu MP Tian Chua saying it could hurt voter sentiment.

Harapan supremo Anwar Ibrahim, however, insisted that younger candidates deserve a chance.

PBM vs PBM

Parti Bangsa Malaysia is in full meltdown.

Party founder Larry Sng is battling Zuraida Kamaruddin for the party's presidency.

Sng - who is the ROS-certified president - has suspended Zuraida and her followers from the party.

Zuraida, however, is confident that problems can be settled before she submits her nomination papers for the Ampang seat.
