Tourists from China are set to return to Malaysia after travel restrictions were lifted.
The Health Ministry has advised the public to get boosters in anticipation of the Chinese tourists.
However, bivalent vaccines - which are more effective against omicron and its subvariants - are only expected to be available in late Jan, despite being apporved last month.
The Health Ministry assured that it will be stringently testing passengers coming from China.
Others such as the Malaysia Tourism Agency Association and PAS, however, prefer that tourist arrivals from China be temporarily suspended, instead.

Kedah vs gambling
The Kedah state government has banned all gambling and lottery premises from operating effective yesterday.
Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said their licenses had expired by Dec 31 and would not be renewed - as per the state government's decision in November last year.
Kedah is now the third state to ban licenced gambling premises, with the others being PAS-led Kelantan and Terengganu.

Minister vs labour
Human Resources Minister V Sivakumar is battling with pro-labour groups over the deferment of the RM1,500 minimum wage for micro businesses with less than five employees.
PSM deputy chairperson S Arutchelvan claimed that Sivakumar did not get cabinet's approval for the move - which the latter denied.
Arutchelvan isn't buying the denial, however, and wants receipts.

A secondary school volleyball coach caused outrage when he was caught on camera slapping two teenage athletes.
The coach has since been slapped with a suspension pending investigations.
