Kuala Lumpur, 25 June 2014 – The 15th International Architecture, Interior Design & Building Exhibition, ARCHIDEX and its co-located exhibition – ECO-B (3rd Eco Building & Design Exhibition) starts today till 28 June at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.


It is now touted as an annual trade exhibition is notable as the most anticipated annual event in the architecture and building industry and the most exciting and strategic ground for industry professionals across the region to gather.

This year, the exhibition celebrates its 15th installment as part of a pillar of six major events for the region’s architecture, interior design and building industry’s most important date, namely the 16th Asian Congress of Architects (ACA 16), a major bi-annual architecture conference, hosted by PAM (Malaysian Institute of Architects) and the 35th Council Meeting of Architects Regional Council of Asia (ARCASIA).

The co-located exhibition, ECO-B in the new Hall 9 at the adjacent Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur is also a significant annual exhibition that industry professionals look forward to. It caters to an exponential rise of global interest in green building technologies, designs and solutions. The latest methods and expertise will be shared amongst professionals, as well as the newest sustainable materials and products for various applications that are aesthetically appealing yet renewable. Green building assessment tools and rating consultations are also part of ECO-B exhibition.

ARCHIDEX marks a milestone as it continues to be a hugely successful exhibition that has grown in size, strength and influence. It is occupying 9 exhibition halls filled with an impressive 1,520 exhibition booths that is represented by more than 550 local and international companies. A total of 32% of them are new exhibitors.

"17 countries are participating this year, hailing from Austria, Australia, China, Estonia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Malaysia. 5 country pavilions include Austria, Germany, Singapore, Korea and China. This sums up to 20% international participation overall", said Dato' Vincent Lim, President of C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd, the Joint Organiser of ARCHIDEX and ECO-B.

Here in ARCHIDEX, visitors can see new product launches through the New Product Award and New Eco Product Award to acknowledge the most significant ones that are distinguished by their design, innovation and technological advances based on a stringent set of criteria. A total of 67 nominees were submitted by 57 participating exhibitors with 35% of them newly introduced to the market.

Besides, there are also the not-to-be-missed trade presentations by selected exhibitors – BIZ@ARCHIDEX and BIZ@ECO-B that covers a range of products of the built environment for industry professionals.
