Rosmah arrested

Rosmah Mansor, the wife of former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak, was arrested by the MACC and is expected to be charged today with money laundering.

In an Instagram post, her daughter Nooryana Najwa, said her mother's arrest was the government "going too far", and rued the latter's charging tomorrow will be a "media circus."

Earlier, Najib was questioned by the police's commercial crime investigation department for three hours, over the 1MDB investigations, as well as the RM43.3 million "missing" during the raids at Pavilion Residences in Kuala Lumpur.

On another matter, Najib called on the Election Commission to answer claims that it singled him out for persecution over an alleged offence in the Sungai Kandis by-election.

Cops quiz Lokman over sodomy claim

Police recorded the statement from Umno supreme council member Lokman Noor Adam over his claim of a fresh sodomy allegation against PKR president-elect Anwar Ibrahim.

Lokman also claimed that the authorities may charge former deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as well, regarding the RM2.6 billion in Najib's account.

Several Pakatan Harapan MPs and leaders condemned the recent detention of Lokman's brother Azman, under the Sedition Act, for allegedly insulting Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad on social media.

Meanwhile, Anwar, who is the Harapan candidate for the Port Dickson by-election, made a surprise appearance at an awards ceremony for army veterans.

Lawyers for Liberty adviser N Surendran was forced to dispel ru mours of his own death after false messages of him being found dead in his home, started circulating on social media.
