BUSINESSES

- Sport For Living (SFL) Performance Centre, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur

A member of this gymnasium tested positive for Covid-19 today, after attending a class at another gym, Flyproject, on Dec 27.

The member did not have symptoms until today and was told by the Health Ministry to self-quarantine until further arrangements are made, SFL said in a notice on its website.

The member attended training sessions at SFL Performance on Dec 12 (7.30-8.30pm with three other members), Dec 31 (8-9 am with another member), and on Jan 2 (9-10am with two other members).

All staff and trainers have undergone Covid-19 testing while the gym is temporarily closed for sanitisation.

Coaches will provide online training services until they get their results.

- Bank Islam, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Terengganu branch and Bandar Wawasan, Jalan Raja Abdullah, Kuala Lumpur branch

The two branches are temporarily closed for sanitisation starting today after employees tested positive for Covid-19, the bank said.

Kuala Terengganu customers are advised to visit the Kuala Nerus or Jalan Padang Hiliran branches instead, while Kuala Lumpur customers are advised to visit the Medan Mara branch.

Alternatively, customers can use e-banking services, it said.

- Hero Market, Kampung Baharu Puchong Batu 14, Selangor

Two workers here tested positive for Covid-19, the supermarket said in a statement.

The supermarket will close starting tomorrow for disinfection while all staff at this branch will undergo Covid-19 testing.

- Dough and Dolce Cafe, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur

Two customers who visited the premises between 11am and 1pm on Dec 28 tested positive for Covid-19, the cafe said in a notice on Instagram.

The cafe has been sanitised and all staff tested negative for Covid-19.

The cafe will reopen on Thursday.

- Adelphi & Co Restaurant, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

A customer who dined here on Jan 3 tested positive for Covid-19.

The restaurant is closed temporarily for sanitation while all employees have tested negative for Covid-19. 

- Unip Berhad, Balakong, Selangor

A team of DAP volunteers carried out sanitisation works at this toothbrush and oral care products factory located in Kawasan Perusahaan Cheras Jaya on Dec 27, 2020.

It is learned that a positive Covid-19 case was detected at these premises which led to health authorities ordering them to conduct sanitisation activities.

- Othrs. Barber Shop, USJ 9, Selangor

The owner of the Othrs. barbershop franchise posted on social media today saying that its USJ9 branch is temporarily closed due to Covid-19.

This came after one of its part-time hairstylists tested positive for the coronavirus.

- Marina Seafood, KLCC Boulevard, Kuala Lumpur

This seafood restaurant posted on its Facebook on Friday (Jan 1) that the business is closed until further notice after a suspected Covid-19 case was detected there.

It stated that all employees of the restaurant have taken swab tests and were found negative. All of them are under quarantine for seven days.

Disinfection works have also been carried out at the restaurant.

- B.est Mind & Body fitness studio, Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur

The fitness studio yesterday said two staff members and three students here tested positive for Covid-19.

The studio is closed until further notice to facilitate contact tracing, quarantine and sanitation.

All staff members have been tested and are under quarantine.

- Hyde53m Restaurant and Bar, Damansara Utama, Selangor

A customer who visited this establishment on Dec 31 from 9pm onwards tested positive for Covid-19, Hyde53m said in a notice on Instagram.

Operations were shut down on Jan 1 until further notice while staff have undergone Covid-19 tests and are under quarantine.

- Hookie Dookie Restaurant and Bar, Plaza Arkadia, Desa Parkcity, Kuala Lumpur

A staff member tested positive on Jan 3 and immediately isolated himself, the restaurant said.

The restaurant will close temporarily for sanitation and to allow staff to get tested and quarantined.

- 1 Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur

A staff member of occupational rehabilitation clinic SO Stretch and acupuncture clinic 1TCM tested positive for Covid-19.

The SO Stretch employee was last at the outlet on Dec 28 while the 1TCM employee was last at work on Dec 22.

Both outlets have been sanitised and allowed to reopen by the Health Ministry, 1Mont Kiara's management said.

- Wow Fitness, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur

A member tested positive for Covid-19, Wow Fitness said on its Instagram account yesterday.

He last visited the gym on Dec 28 (6-7pm), Dec 29 (7-8pm) and Dec 30 (6-7pm).

The gym will close tomorrow for sanitation while all staff members will undergo Covid-19 testing.

This is the 10th gym to announce a Covid-19 case among its staff or members in the past two weeks.

- Oxygen Cycle, Star Boulevard KLCC, Kuala Lumpur

A customer who attended a by-invitation-only class at Oxygen Cycle at 8.45am on Dec 30 tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 3, the gym said on its Instagram story.

The customer sought testing on Jan 2 after a contact was found positive for Covid-19.

Oxygen Cycle staff tested negative for Covid-19 and are under quarantine until Jan 10.

The gym has been sanitised and is closed until further notice.

This is the 11th gym in the Klang Valley to announce a case among staff or customers in the past fortnight.

- Pasaraya OTK Gombak

The supermarket will today close again for sanitation after another staff member tested positive for Covid-19.

Other staff who had close contact are under home quarantine.

The supermarket had closed on Jan 1 after a staff member was infected.

- De Palma Hotel, Shah Alam, Selangor

Two journalists who covered a Pejuang event attended by former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad here on Dec 31 had been tested positive for Covid-19.

It is learned that other journalists who covered the function have also been notified, and they have taken the initiative to undergo swab tests.

Malaysiakini has contacted Mahathir's press team on whether the nonagenarian has been tested for the virus since he attended the event, as Mahathir also held a press conference there.

- Plaza Mahkota, Bandar Putatan, Sabah

Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Jeffrey Kitingan officiated an event at an outdoor space here on Dec 26.

He tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 4.

In recordings of the event, he is seen not wearing a mask as food was served during the event.

Kitingan was also photographed posing unmasked with other Star members at his residence during New Year's Eve.


RESIDENCES

- Faber Ria Condominium, Taman Desa, Kuala Lumpur

A resident of Block 6 tested positive for Covid-19, the management said in a notice.

Disinfection of possibly contaminated areas is underway, it said.

The management advises residents undergoing quarantine to inform the management's office via email or letter.

- KL Traders Square, Setapak, Kuala Lumpur

Several cases were detected at this commercial and residential complex.

On Jan 3, the management announced three cases at Block C while a case was announced at Level 10 of Block A on Dec 27 and another at Block B on Dec 31.

All patients have been taken away by the Health Ministry and sanitation has been done in common areas, it said in separate statements.

- Platinum Lake Condo (PV16), Taman Danau Kota, Kuala Lumpur

A resident tested positive for Covid-19, the management said in a notice today.

The resident's family members will undergo testing and quarantine, it said.

All common areas will be sanitised.

- Westside III, Desa Parkcity, Kuala Lumpur

Two residents tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday, the management said.

All common areas have been sanitised.

Those under quarantine at home are advised to inform the management via WhatsApp, email, or letter.

- Desa Satu Apartment, Desa Aman Puri, Kuala Lumpur

A resident of Block 5 and three residents of Block 6 tested positive for Covid-19 and have been sent to the hospital, the management said in a notice yesterday.

- Lakeville Residence, Batu Caves, Kuala Lumpur

A resident of Level 12, Tower A tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 3 and is now under quarantine, the management said in a notice yesterday.

The resident had also visited the podium car park on Level 3, the facility level on Level 7, and Level G of Tower A, it said.

Frequently touched surfaces have been wiped down and sanitised while a professional disinfecting company is being engaged for further cleaning.

- Midah Ria Condominium, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur

A resident has tested positive for Covid-19, the management said in a notice today.

- Canal Gardens, Kota Kemuning, Selangor

A Covid-19 case was detected here and the patient has been fetched to hospital, said Gamuda Land Property Services Sdn Bhd in a notice today.

Disinfection was done in common areas while sanitation will be done on a daily basis, township manager Adam Rafeque said.

- De Bayu apartments, Setia Alam, Selangor

A resident at Block 3 tested positive for Covid-19, the management said in a notice to residents today.

The management is making arrangements to sanitise common areas, especially on the affected level.

- Seri Maya condominium, Jalan Jelatek, Kuala Lumpur

The management announced yet another case at Seri Maya today, involving a resident of Block C.

This is the 8th case reported at this residential complex in the past two weeks.

As of 6.18pm today, the infected resident is still waiting to be taken to the hospital.

The management will sanitise all common areas and facilities at Block C after the resident leaves the building, it said.

- Bayu Tasik condominium, Bandar Sri Permaisuri, Kuala Lumpur

A resident of Block C tested positive for Covid-19 and has been sent to the hospital, stated a notice by management dated Dec 31.

The resident's housemate has been tested and is under home quarantine.

Cleaners have been instructed to sanitise lifts, lobbies, doors, and common areas. 

- Residensi PandanMas 2, Kampung Pandan, Kuala Lumpur

A resident at Level 13, Block C, of this apartment has tested positive for Covid-19, according to a notice issued by its management today.

Residents were urged to follow SOPs and ensure cleanliness and personal hygiene.

- Setapak Green Condominium, Jalan Gombak, Kuala Lumpur

Two residents at Level 13A of this condominium were confirmed positive for Covid-19 yesterday (Jan 4), said a notice issued by its management today.

Following this, they have taken the necessary measures including sanitising common areas at the condominium, as well as elevators, rubbish rooms, and public toilets.

- Richmond Kiara 3, Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur

A resident of this condominium tested positive for Covid-19.

According to a notice dated Jan 4 by its management company, the individual was undergoing quarantine at home.

Following the case, the management said it had increased intensity of sanitisation works at all public facilities and common areas.

- Royal Domain Sri Putramas II, Jalan Putramas, Kuala Lumpur

The management today notified residents of a seventh Covid-19 infection at the complex.

The latest case involves a resident of Block A1, it said in a notice.

All lifts and affected hallways at that block will be sanitised by cleaners while a professional sanitisation company will be engaged for further disinfection.

- Residensi Harmoni 2, Persiaran Prima Pelangi, Kuala Lumpur

A resident of Block C tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 2, the management said.

As at Jan 3, the resident is still under self-quarantine at home.

Sanitisation has been done at affected common areas.

- Residency @ Park 51, Petaling Jaya, Selangor

A second Covid-19 case in a week was reported yesterday at this condominium complex, the management said in a notice yesterday.

The latest case involves a resident at Block D, who has been fetched to hospital, it said.

Sanitisation has been instructed at all common areas.

- Citizen, Old Klang Road, Kuala Lumpur

A second Covid-19 case was detected among Citizen residents at Level 35, Block C, the management said yesterday.

As of yesterday, the individual is still waiting to be taken to hospital.

A professional company will be engaged to sanitise the lobbies and lifts of blocks A, B and C, all facilities at common areas of the affected floor and the car park bay belonging to the affected resident, it added.

- 3 Elements, Seri Kembangan, Selangor

A resident of Block A tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 1, the management said in a notice on Saturday.

The management has arranged for sanitisation of common areas and frequently touched surfaces of Block A.

- Sunway Geo Residences, Bandar Sunway, Selangor

A resident tested positive on Jan 4, the management said in a notice yesterday.

Others in the same unit are undergoing quarantine at a location outside of Sunway Geo Residences, it said.

All facilities are closed until Jan 8 for sanitisation.

- Eve Suite, Ara Damansara, Selangor

A resident tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday, the management said.

As of Jan 4, the resident is still waiting to be fetched by the Health Ministry.

Sanitisation has been done at Lobbies 1-3, the refuse room on Level 23, Level 7 and the entrance of the car park, while continuous sanitation will be done for common areas, lifts and corridors.

- Residensi Platinum Teratai, Setapak, Kuala Lumpur

A resident of Level 25 tested positive for Covid-19 after close contact with an infected colleague, the management said in a notice yesterday.

A professional disinfecting company has been appointed to disinfect all common areas and the affected level, it said.

- Pangsapuri Suri Puteri, Shah Alam, Selangor

Another case was reported at Level 15, Block A, the management said yesterday.

Others sharing the same unit have undergone Covid-19 testing and will self-quarantine for 10 days.

The management urges all residents to ensure no one from the unit breaks quarantine.

Sanitation has been done in all affected areas.

Malaysiakini earlier reported two residents of Level 8, Block A tested positive on Dec 30.

- Residensi Kepong Mas, Taman Metropolitan Kepong, Kuala Lumpur

The Kepong DAP office posted the screenshot of a notice on Facebook last night, saying that one resident of this apartment has been tested positive for Covid-19.

The notice issued by the apartment management said that the individual lives in a unit at Block A.

Following this, the management bars visitors until Jan 15 and anyone who wants to visit its office is required to schedule an appointment beforehand.

- Kampung Batu 18 Mukim Serdang, Bandar Baharu, Kedah

The Bandar Baharu district health office on Sunday issued a statistics, saying that one new positive Covid-19 case has been detected at this village

With the new case, the total number of active Covid-19 cases in Mukim Serdang has increased to three. It is also the only locality in the district which has active cases currently.

- Hampshire Residences, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur

The management of this condominium issued a notice on Dec 29, saying that two of its residents have been tested positive for Covid-19.

Following this, the individuals have been sent to hospital for treatment, while the management has since carried out disinfection activities at the premises.

- Residensi Infiniti 3, Taman Sri Rampai, Kuala Lumpur

A resident has tested positive for Covid-19, the management said in a notice on Dec 29.

His family members have undergone Covid-19 tests and will quarantine for 10 days, after which they will get another test to confirm their negative status, the management said.

All facilities are closed temporarily while affected areas and facilities have been sanitised.

- Suasana Lumayan Condominium, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur

The management of this condominium issued a notice yesterday, saying that a resident has been tested positive for Covid-19.

The resident has since been taken to hospital for treatment.

Following this, the management is arranging for deep cleaning works to be conducted at all common areas that the individual had accessed.


EMBASSIES

- Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur and its Passport Services Centre, Ampang, Selangor

The Bangladesh High Commission issued a Jan 3 notice on Facebook saying that several of its staff members have tested positive for Covid-19.

The incident affected the operations of its High Commission located in Jalan Yahya Petra, Kuala Lumpur and its Passport Services Centre in Ampang, Selangor.

It stated that sanitisation works were in progress, and the Passport Services Centre would resume operations tomorrow. Those who have business with the centre are required to make an appointment at least three days ahead.


OFFICES

- Al Rajhi Bank headquarters, Wisma Golden Realty, Kuala Lumpur

An employee tested positive for Covid-19 today and has been sent to Hospital Sungai Buloh, the management said in a circular.

Other employees who had close contact are undergoing self-quarantine for two weeks and will get tested for Covid-19.

The bank said employees have been asked to work at alternate sites to minimise impact on core operations.

- Setiawalk, Puchong, Selangor

Another Covid-19 case has been detected at Setiawalk's Commercial Block D.

The employee tested positive on Jan 2.

The office was sanitised on Jan 3 and will remain closed as staff have been tested and are undergoing quarantine.

A case was earlier reported at Commercial Block C on Dec 31.

- Karangkraf headquarters, Shah Alam, Selangor

One of the journalists who tested positive after attending the event at De Palma Hotel, Shah Alam is a Sinar Harian reporter.

It is learned that he had come to work at the newspaper's office here for several days after the assignment, prior to being tested.

- Menara Tokio Marine Life, Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur

Six out of 10 cleaners at this building tested positive for Covid-19.

They were asymptomatic, the management said in a notice to tenants on Dec 29.

Sanitation has been done at the cleaners' rest area, work locations and common areas.

All cleaners are to wear masks and gloves when doing the cleaning, the management said.

Meanwhile, security guards will also be tested again for Covid-19, as their last test was at the end of November.

They must wear masks and face shields when on duty.

- Menara UOA Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur

An employee of Level 21, Tower B tested positive for Covid-19.

The employee last entered the building on Dec 31, the management said in a notice yesterday.

Disinfection of all floors including Tower B's lobby and lifts was done yesterday, it said.


GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS

- Transport Ministry, Putrajaya

Several Transport Ministry staff members tested positive in the last week of December, a family member of one of the infected staff confirmed to Malaysiakini.

The family member was also infected, as were other members of their family, after contact with the Transport Ministry staff.

Malaysiakini understands some of the Transport Ministry staff were infected after attending a meeting with a senior official, who was symptomatic.


FACTORIES

- ATA IMS Bhd, Johor Bahru, Johor

The company is temporarily shutting down its factories in Johor Bahru until Jan 7, after a number of its staff members tested positive for Covid-19, it said in an announcement to Bursa Malaysia.

Last month it reported that two employees at its fully-owned subsidiary ATA Components Sdn Bhd tested positive for Covid-19 on Dec 15 and 16 respectively.
