The Indonesian police and the US' Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have never contacted the Malaysian police regarding the luxury yacht Equanimity, said inspector-general of police Mohamad Fuzi Harun today.
"No, there was none (any form of contact from FBI and the Indonesian police).
"The Indonesian authorities had never contacted PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police). Never," he said briefly at a press conference in Bukit Aman this morning.
Fuzi was responding to a question from a reporter about whether the Indonesian police or FBI contacted the Malaysian police regarding the search for Equanimity.
When asked if the US Department of Justice (DOJ) had contacted the Malaysian police regarding the seizure of the luxury yacht belonging to Penang-born businessperson Low Taek Jho (Jho Low), Fuzi also replied in the negative.

"No, no, to date, we have not received any request (from DOJ) in the matter.
"So, I cannot comment anything more than that," he said.
When pressed on the status of investigations against Low in the 1MDB probe, Fuzi added: "This, I really cannot answer."
The Indonesian police and FBI seized the US$250 million (RM1 billion) Equanimity in Bali, last week. The DOJ claims that the vessel was bought using funds allegedly siphoned from state sovereign fund 1MDB.
Yesterday, Indonesian police's deputy director of economic and special crimes Daniel Silitonga told Malaysiakini that a team of prosecutors from the DOJ is currently in Indonesia to facilitate the handover process of the yacht.
He also said that the Malaysian authorities are not involved in the cooperation between the Indonesian police and the FBI to seize the vessel.
