The Selangor Pakatan Harapan government will likely remain intact even if those loyal to PKR deputy president Azmin Ali leave the coalition.
This follows a meeting convened by Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari in the morning with PKR lawmakers.
Checks with several lawmakers revealed that Amirudin and the majority of the state's lawmakers are unwilling to cooperate with Umno.
It is understood that the only lawmakers who did not attend the meeting include Azmin (Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyperson) and Hilman Idham (Gombak Setia). Several other absentees were away on official business.
Rawang state assemblyperson Chua Wei Keat and a PKR lawmaker who refused to be named said Amirudin had reaffirmed this commitment towards Pakatan Harapan.
The lawmaker who wished to remain anonymous added that Amirudin said he was committed to maintaining the mandate from the people.
"He told us that we still have a big majority, even without Azmin, Hilman Idham and Bersatu lawmakers," said Chua.
Another PKR lawmaker, who declined to be named, described the situation in Selangor as "status quo".
He said Amirudin will likely seek an audience with the palace soon to explain the situation and lawmakers from three parties - PKR, DAP and Amanah - might have to meet the ruler as well.
Harapan has a supermajority in the 56 seat Selangor legislative assembly, with 50 seats, of which five are held by Bersatu.
Bersatu's commitment towards Harapan is now in question following the meeting at Sheraton Hotel, Petaling Jaya last night with opposition figures.
