BUSINESSES

- Setia Fontaine's Show Village, Kepala Batas, Penang

A contract worker who was cleaning the premises tested positive for Covid-19, according to a notice by the company on Facebook today. It said the individual last reported for duty on Nov 24.

Following this, the Show Village was closed until further notice. The company has also closed its Setia Experience Centre in Setia Fontaines as a precautionary measure.

- Multiple businesses in Bentong, Pahang

The Bentong Municipal Council on Wednesday (Nov 25) issued a notice ordering five business premises in the district to close for two days.

It is believed that these businesses were affected by Covid-19 cases, as the council ordered them to conduct immediate cleaning works.

The businesses are TF Value-Mart Bentong branches in Jalan Tras and Jalan Ah Peng; Restoran Lemang To'ki 2; Marrybrown in Skyavenue Genting; and 7-Eleven outlet in Skyavenue Genting.

- Hero Market Alam Megah, Shah Alam, Selangor

A part-time staff here tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday (Nov 27), according to a notice published by the company. Following this, the outlet is closed for today (Nov 28) for sanitisation.

All employees have been ordered to take Covid-19 tests and undergo a 14-day quarantine. They will be replaced by another team temporarily to operate the store.

- Puspakom Sandakan, Sabah

The vehicle inspection company issued a statement saying that a staff member at its Sandakan branch has been tested positive Covid-19, and is now receiving treatment at a hospital.

Following this, all Puspakom employees at the facility have been ordered to be screened for the virus, and those identified as close contacts have to undergo a 14-day quarantine.

- Tiong Nam Logistics Holdings Bhd (warehouse), Johor

According to the New Straits Times, 27 of the employees who worked at this facility have been tested positive for Covid-19.

The cases were detected during a screening exercise conducted on a total of 267 in-house staff and subcontracted workers between Nov 23 and Nov 26, 2020.

Following this, the company has halted operations at the warehouse and all supporting vehicles to conduct thorough disinfection works. They are also expanding Covid-19 tests to all 556 truck drivers.

- Alimsah Waley Mosque in Lebuh Chulia, Penang

The Timur Laut District Islamic Affairs Office issued a notice to the mosque management about a positive case involving an individual, who had participated in a Friday prayer on Nov 20.

Following this, the mosque has agreed to cease its activities temporarily.
