BUSINESSES 

- Honda Weststar Auto Sdn Bhd, Ampang, Selangor

A staff member tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday.

She was last at work on Jan 12 and has been under home quarantine since then.

The Honda service centre is closed temporarily for sanitation while all staff and other close contacts will undergo testing.

- Homestay Dewan Nahandang, Kampung Melangkap Tiong, Kota Belud, Sabah

Attendees of the Professional Certification in Management Efficiency and Practice course here on Jan 4-7 and Jan 11-12 are urged to come forward for Covid-19 testing.

The testing will be conducted at 9.30am to 11.30am tomorrow at Dewan Taman Ikan Jinak, Kampung Melangkap Tiong, the Kota Belud Health Office said in a notice.


RESIDENCES

- Nova Saujana, Shah Alam, Selangor

A resident of Block A tested positive for Covid-19, the management said on Friday.

This is the second case this month, with the first reported on Jan 7.

- One Menerung, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur

A cluster of cases was detected among security guards at this luxury residential complex.

To date, a total of 23 out of 26 individuals screened tested positive, the Health Ministry said.

On Jan 4, the building management said a resident's personal bodyguard and driver tested positive for Covid-19.

- Taman Raintree, Batu Caves, Selangor

A total of 13 Covid-19 cases have been detected at the Ariza townhouses and the Semarak and Penaga condominium blocks of the Taman Raintree residential estate, the management said.

The latest three cases received confirmation of their Covid-19 positive status in the past three days, are all from the Penaga Block and in quarantine pending instructions from the Health Ministry.

They reside on Levels 16, 22 and 15, the management said, and are believed to have been infected through contact with an infected person outside Raintree.

- Kampung Bukit Lada, Temerloh, Pahang

A resident here tested positive for Covid-19 after returning from Selangor.

To date, the infection has spread from the index case to 18 other people.

The cluster is called Rantai Lada and was detected in the districts of Temerloh and Maran.

- Jalan Solok, Pantai Peringit, Malacca

A resident here tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 11.

Since then 128 close contacts have been screened and 24 have tested positive to date.

The cluster is called Pantai Peringit.

- Vista Impiana, Seri Kembangan, Selangor

A resident of Block A tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 12, the management said.

Disinfection has been done for the lifts and common areas. 

- Megaria Tulip Apartment, Seri Kembangan, Selangor

Two residents at Block B1 tested positive for Covid-19 today, the management said.

All common areas and lifts will be disinfected, it added.

- Anning Old Folks' Home, Ipoh, Perak.

A total of 13 people including seven senior citizens and six employees here were reported Covid-19 positive on Jan 14.

Its chairperson Marcus How Kok Peng said everyone at the home tested negative in December.

The building has been placed under lockdown until Jan 20. Visitation is not allowed while residents can only go out when necessary.

The premises will be sanitised by the state Health Department.

- Aman Dua Apartment, Kepong, Selangor

The management confirmed that a Covid-19 case was detected at AD3, Level 2.

Sanitisation has been conducted in all common areas.

- Platinum Hill PV8 Condominium, Setapak, Kuala Lumpur

In a Jan 16 notice, the management said a resident from Level 13a, Block B tested positive for Covid-19.

Four residents living in the same unit have been advised to get tested and self-quarantine.

Disinfection will be carried out in all common areas.


FACTORIES AND INDUSTRIAL AREAS

- Jalan Perak 4, Pasir Gudang Industrial Area, Johor

A cluster was detected through targeted screening at a factory here, the Health Ministry said.

Some 35 cases have been detected while 504 workers have been screened so far.

The name of the factory was not disclosed, while the cluster is called Jalan Perak.


CONSTRUCTION SITES

- Construction site in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, Kuala Lumpur

Screening of workers at a construction site in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng found 21 out of 47 workers tested positive, the Health Ministry said today.

The name of the construction project was not revealed.


GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS

- Sepang Immigration Depot, Selangor

A total of 80 cases have been detected here to date.

They are part of the DTI Sepang 2 cluster.

The index case was detected on Jan 3, through screening of a detainee who was to be deported.

- Wisma Pelayaran Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia Sepanggar, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

A cluster of cases was detected among members of the navy based here.

A total of 15 cases have been detected to date in this cluster called Jalan Mawila.

The cluster was detected on Jan 13 during testing before interstate travel.

- Human Resources Ministry, Putrajaya

Human resources minister's political secretary Khamarulazlan Mohamad Hanafiah attended a meeting at his office here with MCA Ayer Hitam division chief Ling Tian Soon on Jan 9.

Khamarulazlan tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday, his wife announced on social media.

In photographs uploaded by Ling on his Facebook, Khamarulazlan was not wearing a face mask, but Ling was masked.

In a posting today, Ling said he had undergone testing as a precaution and tested negative for Covid-19.

- Pekan Nanas Immigration Depot, Taman Emas, Johor

A detainee, who was tested before deported, was found to be Covid-19 positive on Jan 10.

Since then, 40 other detainees in the immigration depot have tested positive up to Jan 16, the Health Ministry said. 

- National Sports Institute (ISN), Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur

ISN confirmed that three of its officers tested positive for Covid-19 using Rapid Test Kit-Antigen (RTK-AG) on Jan 12.

Its chief executive officer Ahmad Faedzal Md Ramli reportedly said cases will be handled according to the standard operating procedures set by the Health Ministry.

Close contacts have been sent for screening and placed under home quarantine.

Sanitisation has been carried out at ISN.


EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

- Institut Latihan Perindustrian Labuan, Labuan

To date, 12 cases have been detected in the Jalan Mohammed Salleh cluster, traced to this training centre.

The index case was detected on Jan 11 through symptomatic screening of an individual who traveled from Sabah.

- Negeri Sembilan Matriculation College, Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan

At least one case was detected among students at this college, the management said in a notice.

The case has been independently verified by Malaysiakini.

According to the notice, the college is closed from Jan 15 to 22 for sanitation while close contacts will undergo Covid-19 screening and quarantine off-campus.

Lessons will be conducted online, while the college cafe will operate as usual for takeaway.

Parents are not allowed to visit or send anything via delivery, and students are discouraged from ordering food from elsewhere, the notice said.

Malaysiakini's calls to the college management were unanswered while the Ministry of Education said it cannot make any statement on Covid-19 infections before the Health Ministry.

Negeri Sembilan exco member in charge of health, S Veerapan did not respond to requests for confirmation, while exco for education Mohamad Rafie Abdul Malek said he cannot make statements on Covid-19 matters.

ADS
